Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home located at 205 South Main St., Manville, NJ 08835, is proud to be the area drop off point for the United States Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.
As a funeral home we serve the community and its families throughout the year in their time of need. It is our privilege to be able to assist the United States Marine Corps Reserve with this worthy cause of helping those less fortunate in the community during this holiday season.
We have a marked box inside the rear door of the funeral home (the rear door is marked "flower room") for all donations. The door is open during normal business hours, M-F 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, for drop off. Additionally, access will be available if there are any evening or weekend viewings. ARE DEACEASED VETERANS GETTING THE RECOGNITION THEY DESERVE?
John R. “Jack” Zalewski, owner and manager of Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home in Manville and Countryside Funeral Home in Three Bridges, is making sure they do.
A two year United Sates Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, Mr. Zalewski, along with his three children, (all licensed Funeral Directors), have always honored deceased Veterans and their families by setting up a memorial at each viewing of a deceased Veteran honoring their respective branch of service and accomplishments. In addition, a Military Honor Guard from their respective branch of service and a Twenty-One Gun Salute has always been provided when quested by the family.
Now, as a result of a suggestion from Intern George Rocco Seminara Jr., a twelve year United States Marine Corps Combat Veteran of the Persian Gulf, Mr. Zalewski will be doing even more. When permission from the family is given, every Veterans funeral procession will be led by our hearse adorned with two American flags and a magnetic decal on each side of the hearse representing the Veterans branch of service. This will help recognize that a Veterans funeral procession is passing. Additionally, every vehicle in the procession behind the hearse will also have an American flag to identify the entire procession. The flags will then be kept by the driver of each vehicle in memory of the Veteran.
“Our staff has always felt that most people do not notice the American Flag draped casket in the back of the hearse. We wanted to do something more noticeable. Something that would alert everyone that a Veteran, one who has sacrificed so much for so many, has died and draw attention to the procession, giving the Veteran and their family the recognition and respect they deserve”.
We know that most Veteran organizations are going through some financial difficulties. Therefore, when a Veterans funeral is handled by either Fucillo & Warren Funeral Home or Countryside Funeral Home, a donation of $100.00 will be made to any local Veteran group the family wishes in memory of their loved one. “It is my hope that these added services will help to honor the distinguished service of all Veterans”.
